Thank you for making the effort to speak to me in person today
and to show concern after knowing I was terribly upset a few days ago.
Thank you for humbly admitting that it was an oversight on your part
that caused me to have to endure horrible words,
and for patiently explaining to me that it hadn't been my fault,
and that I did what was actually right.
Your words restored my self-esteem,
for I pride myself as a professional who, though not always perfect, is at least responsible.
So though I was previously very angry and hurt
and even upset at you,
I thank you for setting things right now,
and making me feel that I am still the kind of person whom I view myself as at work.
And I must say that in doing so,
you have also regained some of my respect for you as a superior.
Thank you.
